Habad Jewish Private Secondary School and Or Avner: closer ties and a new stage of development
Our school has been part of the international Or Avner school network for many years, and today this connection is gaining fresh momentum.
Or Avner brings together Jewish educational institutions across different countries and is one of the region’s major Jewish education initiatives. Its mission goes beyond academic learning, placing equal importance on passing Jewish traditions, history and identity on to the next generation.
Habad Jewish Private Secondary School is no newcomer to this story. For more than 30 years, the school has been building a Jewish educational environment in Riga, combining academic education with Jewish values and traditions.
On 1 September, representatives of Or Avner from Israel visited our school. They met with parents, answered questions and shared their experience, speaking about Jewish education today, its importance and the challenges Jewish schools face in different countries.
As Habad Jewish Private Secondary School prepares for a major reconstruction, not only the school environment will change, but also the range of opportunities we will be able to offer our children. New projects, closer international cooperation and an important new stage in the school’s development lie ahead.
We are looking forward to what comes next and believe that very soon Habad Jewish Private Secondary School will become one of the strongest Jewish schools in the region.
