Vienna, Yael Awards 2026, and the people who bring us closer
In early February, the principal and rebbetzin of our school visited Vienna to take part in the Yael Awards 2026, organized by the Yael Foundation.

The trip turned out to be much more than an official event. It was an opportunity to meet colleagues from different countries, exchange experiences, hear diverse perspectives, and begin new forms of collaboration. Through conversations - both formal and informal - meaningful connections and friendships emerged, along with a shared sense of values and responsibility.

The spirit of the Yael Awards is about recognising educators and leaders who help Jewish life remain meaningful, lived, and carried forward with confidence by the next generation. Being part of this space made that idea feel very real.

Between meetings and the official program, there was also time to experience Vienna itself: quiet walks through its historic streets, the city’s architecture, and an atmosphere that encourages reflection.
One especially warm moment was an unexpected meeting with a graduate of our school who now lives in Vienna — a simple reminder that school remains a part of life long after graduation.
We returned home with new ideas, new connections, and the clear feeling that experiences like this strengthen not only professional work, but also the human side of education.
